Newcomer Clare Bowen first appeared as the female lead in David Field’s
critically acclaimed feature “The Combination.” Graduating from Wollongong
University (BCA) in 2007, her focuses encompassed advanced vocal
training, comedy and musical theatre. Clare’s performance background also
includes feature films “The Clinic” (Melbourne Film Festival 2010), “Stage
Fright” and a host of short films, such as St Kilda, Dungog and Beverley
Hills nominated “The Clearing” dir. by Seth Larney (2009), plus a range of
television guest appearances. She most recently played the leading role of
14 year old Wendla in the Tony winning musical, Spring Awakening, with
the Sydney Theatre Company (2010). Clare is an experienced and versatile
vocal artist capable of a wide range of accents, character voices, and animal
sound effects! She has a warm, natural and youthful quality to her voice,
with command of a more mature sound when required. She is fun to work
with, speaks French as a second language, and can change gears from Irish
Muppet to Southern Belle in under 0.5 seconds.
